Claudelle is a British singer-songwriter whose soulful music combines heartfelt lyrics with an underlying sense of melancholy. Inspired by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, and Burt Bacharach, her sound brings together elements of soul, jazz, R&B, and 1960s pop.
Raised on the Cornish coast, Claudelle grew up immersed in both art and nature. Her single 400 Years, featured on BBC Introducing, was influenced by her childhood encounter with Rembrandt’s Self Portrait at the Age of 34 at the National Gallery. Claudelle began writing songs from an early age and released her debut single, a musical arrangement of William Blake’s The Garden of Love, at thirteen.
She has since performed at a number of festivals, including Boardmasters, The Great Estate Festival, and Little Orchard Festival, on the BBC Introducing stage. Claudelle is currently recording her debut EP with producer Alan Sampson, whose credits include ZAYN and Jay Sean.
